About Chado Tea Room
Traditional teahouse with more than 200 kinds of tea plus sandwiches, salads & pastries.
Chado Tea Room is a tea house in Hollywood, California. It is listed at 6801 Hollywood Blvd Suite #209, Hollywood, CA 90028, which places it among the local businesses of Hollywood that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Hours at these spots often run into the evening, later than a typical coffee shop, and many stay open on weekends when demand is highest in Hollywood. Seasonal and limited-time drink or dessert flavors are common, so a shop's current menu can differ from what is posted online; checking recent photos or calling ahead helps. Some locations in California are dessert-only with no seating, meant for takeout, while others have cafe-style seating for staying a while. Straws for bubble tea are typically wide to accommodate the toppings, and are provided automatically unless you ask for a regular one. Loyalty apps and stamp cards are common at chain locations, and ordering ahead through an app can shorten a wait considerably at busy locations during peak after-school and after-dinner hours.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–6 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Chado Tea Room at (323) 472-8111; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, chadotearoom.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 240 reviews, which is a strong result for a tea house in Hollywood and suggests consistent service.
Hollywood is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Hollywood is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

It’s not my first time here. My friend would love to try afternoon tea so we decided to go and celebrated her birthday. Tea was good and sandwiches, including scone cookies. Though I’m not really much impressed with the service. It seems like they’re lacking of friendliness. Location is great. But four stars ⭐️ is good enough for me to rate the place.

The decor and ambiance are so elegant and perfect for photos. The waitress was also very friendly and attentive. However, I find the tea here to be bland. The scones were really dry and hard, I only ate half of it. The sandwiches and desserts all tasted like they were bought from a grocery store, dry and tasteless. We didn't even finished the food we ordered and nobody took the food to go, so you can tell how bad they tasted. The food here is ready disappointing. By the way, you can get validated parking $4 for the first 2 hours, so that was convenient.

Hundreds of teas to choose from! Cute space and best part is that you can order a pot of tea to drink with some food for a legitimate afternoon tea session! I’d make a reservation ahead of time just because it can be busy at times. I ordered the Celebration Afternoon Tea and it comes with a good amount of food: soup/salad, scones, sandwiches, and sweets! I was full after so worth the price! I went with the Birthday Tea which was a lovely floral black tea and paired well with the foods. Loved the teapot and all of the fancy plates. Definitely try it out and great to do before a show in the area!

From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the romantic and charming decor—it felt like stepping into a timeless, elegant escape from the busy city outside. The soft lighting, delicate details, and beautifully arranged tables created the perfect ambiance for a relaxing and intimate tea experience. I ordered their breakfast tea, and it was absolutely delightful—rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. It paired wonderfully with the fresh scones, finger sandwiches, and pastries. For anyone visiting, I highly recommend the full tea service. It’s the best way to experience everything Chado has to offer, from their wide selection of flavorful teas to their delicious, beautifully presented treats. The combination of savory and sweet items creates the perfect balance, making it ideal for a leisurely brunch or a special occasion. What really made the visit memorable was the romantic atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot for a date, a bridal shower, or even a quiet morning with friends. The attention to detail in the decor—from the floral centerpieces to the vintage teapots—sets a dreamy and elegant tone that makes you want to linger and savor every moment. The service was outstanding—atten

This place is so cute! It was the perfect spot for a midday break for some tea and a snack. Definitely a good low key date spot as well or just perfect for catching up with a friend. The teapots are adorable and you can get a full tea service for $24.95, which is very reasonable. Can’t wait to come back.
